What Must I do To Be Saved?

God wants you to be 100% sure that when you die you will go to heaven. That's why the Bible says, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life." I John 5:13

Salvation- Knowing for sure that you are going to heaven.  Do you ever find yourself wondering what would happen to you if you were to die? Do you know if you would go to heaven? According to the Bible, the only way a person gets to heaven is through repentance and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

There are three things you will need to know, realize and accept to be saved.

1. Admit that you are a sinner-(All have sinned)

Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one."

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

2. Believe that only Jesus Christ can save you (We cannot save ourselves from hell; or work our way to heaven.)

Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us."

3. Confess your sins and Call upon Jesus (Many people admit that they are sinners, they believe that Jesus Christ was born, lived a perfect life and died on the cross, But few CALL upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save them.)

Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Romans 10:10 "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." 

Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Why not be 100% sure? After reading this of how to be saved, you may want to pray a prayer something like this:

Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner and need forgiveness.  I believe you died and shed your blood for me on  the cross. I believe you rose again from the dead.  I trust You as my personal Saviour and my only hope for heaven. Please forgive me of my sin, cleanse my heart, and save my soul.  In Jesus' name, Amen.
